Volito
Volito is a kinetic sculpture comprising of mechanical butterflies with lights within a glass dome. The butterflies respond to movement and sounds, gently flapping their wings and glowing depending on the levels sensed.
The artwork refers back to the curious Victorian obsession of collecting and displaying specimens under glass domes, re-interpreting those Victorian bell jar displays as a living portrait.
